Verizon Nexus One Delayed Again

On March 31, we reported that Verizon Nexus One would see the light of day some time in April, which, logically speaking, is a rather obvious statement to make, some of our readers told us. If the launch didn’t happen in March, the next best bet would be April considering how much news is swirling around the Verizon Nexus One. The launch is imminent.

Later reports suggested that we might see the Verizon Nexus One as early as the end of this week, which we didn’t report on. A new source at ozcarguide reports that Nexus One for Verizon may be delayed for unknown reasons for as long as a month now. This puts the launch date either at the end of April, or beginning of May.

There’s no word on what the reason is for the delay, but whatever it is, it may be serious if Google isn’t letting the Nexus One for Verizon out of its bag.

For all of you in anticipation, chances are that the Verizon Nexus One will not be released. I heard from a HTC rep in a Verizon say that there are issues with conversion to CDMA on the Nexus One, so the phone will likely not be released. Just wait for the HTC Incredible which will be the only new offering and hopefully will be released soon.

Hmmm, T-mobile has it?? ATT has it it ?? Rogers Wireless (Canada) has it?? whats next pre paid wireless?? Verizon is just holding out as long as they can because they know that people that bought the Droid in the last 30 days willl return it for the Nexus One!! Verizon spent a lot of money and time advertizing that Ugly brick..

ozcarguide also said nexus one on verizon was being banned from america because of apple's lawsuit spark against htc. all "reports" ive seen on ozcarguide have been trash or pointless. and the iphone has more been reported to be seen as early as september AS EARLY AS. and thats just going off of a report from wall street journal. its the same heresay weve been seeing with the nexus. when it comes to technology, unless the company itself sets a public release date (sometimes even that gets delayed), then youre just gonna have to cross youre fingers and take everything as you go. technology is always gonna be constantly changing at a breakneck speed. you just have to take what you get and roll with it. unless youre extremely rich and can afford a new phone every 4 or 5 months.

That OzCarGuide post was BS. I checked it earlier in the morning and at the bottom of the post it had a banner that said "April Fool's from so on and ect.." with some guy pointing at you. I checked the same link later in the afternoon and the banner had been removed. Perhaps to make the misinformation seem more valid? In any case, "unknown reasons" doesn't sound very convincing, I remain optimistic.

The longer the delays the harder it will be for me to pull the trigger when it comes out. Think about it, iPhone is due to be released some time in the summer. I have waited this long, what is a couple more months. To add to the conversation, if I am waiting this long for an iPhone, I may as well wait until the end of the year to see if the Apple releases their Verizon iPhone on Verizon's 4G network with an HD display. Ball is in your court Google/Verizon. Get it together.
