In the past, no one gave much thought to Google Docs being much of a threat to anything that Microsoft was doing. That may be changing. Bundled with a new set of features to Google Docs, eWeek reports that Google may finally be stepping up to meet MS Office head on.

Finally, Google Docs will begin to feel and behave a bit more like we’ve seen with MS Office over the years. And considering the price difference, we can see this as posing a serious threat to Microsoft assuming the change to Google Docs also means that it can handle .DOCX documents without losing formatting along the way.
