HTC Desire Gives Aussies GPS Frustration

Updates are clearly needed with the HTC Desire, as users of Aussie mobile carrier Telstra have found that the GPS functionality, did not work as expected when the Desire was released.

As explained by Phandroid, the problem appears to fall directly in line with the provided ROM. Sadly though, neither HTC nor Telstra appear overly motivated to get this situation resolved for their users. One might think that an update is just around the corner. Thus far, no word on any such update.

Got the Desire 2 days ago and seems to be humming along nicely, apart from the GPS.
Ive checked forums all over the place yet no one can say if the Update / DLC required to get it to work will be posted, or a patch sent to the phone. What do you think will more than likely be the case?
Im not gonna keep checking online every 15 minutes looking for the fix.
