Easier Multitasking in iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3

In previous versions of iPhone OS 4.0 beta, multitasking was a pain, not that we’d complain, of course. It used to be that you would press the icon, hold it for a few seconds, and tap the “x” to exit the app fully. It was almost as though you were deleting an app permanently.

That has changed in iPhone OS 4.0 beta 3. You can now enter into a mode that will display all apps running in the background with the same gestures as above. Once there, you can tap on “-” in a rapid fire round and have them quit running in one fell swoop. You don’t need to worry about quitting each application one at a time anymore. Multitasking keeps getting better on the iPhone.
