Windows Phone 7 has the potential to be a very strong player in the mobile phone market as it matures into the marketplace. Despite this fact, it would appear that Skype missed that memo.

PCWorld reports that Skype’s Asia Pacific VP explained about the company’s intention to skip on the Skype client for Windows Phone 7. The official stance on the matter is that it’s on the roadmap for some point in the future. In the meantime, Skype is focused on more established platforms, such as Symbian, iPhone, Android and BlackBerry.
