As many predicted early on, the iPad is mopping the floor with the competition. And sadly for Amazon, this also translates into the iPad cutting into Kindle sales as well.

Now according to this piece from the NYTimes, it appears that Amazon has some hope left in their ideas reservoir. Well at least this is the impression I get based on their move to go on a hiring spree to benefit the Kindle’s development. Based on what the article is saying, sure sounds like another Kindle is on its way out of production pretty soon!
