Apple’s previous generation iPhone may have made Verizon uncomfortable during the Droid X launch. The device with its 4.3-inch display is relatively bigger, looks similar to the HTC EVO 4G, but put against the iPhone, the difference isn’t quite as much. Verizon PR didn’t think so. When a 9to5Mac reporter decided to compare the two devices next to each other on video, the Verizon PR rep quickly removed the offending device, the iPhone, out of the viewing angle and recommended that the reporter only record the Droid X. That was a great opportunity for Verizon to up sell on the Droid X’s competitive advantages over the iPhone. Or not.
