When we think of Kmart, odds are we’re not thinking about their latest tech offerings. In most cases, we think of the working man’s friend and access to low cost housewares, an alternative to Wal-Mart and so on. Today, I learned that Kmart may actually become a player in the Android OS arena.

Engadget is reporting that the Augen Android tablet is making its way to Kmart for a price that even the most price conscious among us, would be impressed. How cheap? How about $150. Boasting Android 2.1 tablet with WiFi, 2GB of storage and 256MB of RAM, this could very well lesson the barrier to entry for those looking to get into the tablet PC blitz.
