Continued...

To try and complete the picture, Apple has finally released the wireless version of the Mighty Mouse. Here it comes to save the day. All kidding aside, all I can say is that it's about time. Since the Mighty Mouse is their bread and butter in relation to a pointing device, it only makes sense that they would have slapped some Bluetooth into this thing a long time ago. Like Nike has been telling you, just do it, Apple. There's no reason to drag your development feet on something that is so surrounded by common sense. Your keyboard has been wireless for quite some time now, so why didn't you immediately complement it with a wireless version of the Mighty Mouse? Sometimes the irritation that can be felt from little things like this is enough to make you want to knock on their forehead and say, "Is anyone there? What are you thinking?" The release of the new Mighty Mouse doesn't do anything for me because I find the device to be unusable. I'll take my Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer over an Apple offering any day of the week.

This wireless revolution is only just getting started. One thing that holds some people back from making the plunge is reliability and performance, and while that can be a concern, I haven't experienced anything that has caused me to throw up my hands in frustration and give up the convenience of wireless data transfers. You may wish to continue to plug in a cable and get reliable speed and data transfers that way, but be assured that operating systems are going to provide even better support for wireless technologies, and with hardware and OS manufacturers working together, we're sure to see some more amazing stuff in the near future. Mice are only the beginning - soon almost everything that you could want will be wirelessly communicating with our computers, and we're going to like it, I think.
