Come to think of it, I would like to go ahead and say that if Apple goes with Intel, it would be going behind that Square One. This is perhaps the worst time for Apple to break its contract with IBM especially since IBM is the one with the Cell Processor. A processor, which is touted to have two teraflops of pure muscle, is faster than the fastest super computers a few years ago, and it fits snugly inside your hands without a need for a whole facility to maintain it. If that wasn’t enough, it uses less power and has lower heat emissions, so it’s the dream come true for notebooks.

How many hardcore Apple fans will prefer a Mac stamped "Intel Inside"? They would consider it sacrilege and down right blasphemy, not to mention the absolute jarring color mismatch, between the chic Apple logo, design and the hastily done Intel logo. But then maybe they can do away with the circle around "Intel Inside" and write it within the "Apple". Hmm… now there’s a thought.

Sure, iPod has been a run away success, but the sheer cumbersomeness of transferring music to it using iTunes puts me off. What’s more, if I want to put in some more music from my office PC, iTunes will forcefully empty all the previous music which is about as welcome as wet weather when you are wearing your best suit. Try using an Archos product, the ARC library lets you copy-paste music directly to the folder using Explorer and automatically categorizes files based on artist, genre, title etc. and doesn’t take a year to do it. Under two seconds for 5GB of music…

Their recent move with the "Mighty Mouse" was more shocking than Microsoft making Windows open-source. But the move would indicate that they are trying to lure people away from Windows by assuring them that their carpel tunnels are quite safe if they switch over. I can only understand this move if we look at the fact that scores of Apple fans would be more than willing to fork out an amazing $50 for a wired optical mouse. I personally wouldn’t fall for it even though it says all the right cool sounding terms such as 360-degree clickable mouse with touch sensitive keys and whatnot. At the end of the day, it’s a 4-button optical scroll mouse with no comparison to Logitech and Microsoft mice.
