I truly think that he was one of the most important employees that Microsoft has ever hired because of a simple reason - he's honest. Criticism has been thrown at Microsoft for being closed off from the public, but Scoble helped to open the company up by giving us an inside look at what was going on with Windows and the other areas of Microsoft. He didn't wear the corporate pants like so many people do, either - if something stunk, he'd let us know, even if it was in reference to something from his employer. Allowing Scoble to freely post his thoughts on his blog could be seen as Microsoft taking a big risk, but it's done amazing things for them. Computer users who weren't fans of Windows viewed Scoble as their spokesman, and he encouraged them to take another look at an OS that they may have written off. Whether you're a Windows, Mac, or Linux user, you probably at least have a little more respect for what Microsoft is doing with Windows, thanks to Scoble's efforts. Scoble may be gone from Microsoft, but his efforts have made a long-lasting impact on the company, and this can be seen by the abundance of employees who are still letting the public know what's going on inside Microsoft on their blogs. Besides blogging, Scoble's digital video channel (Channel 9) still lives on, and it's also brought forth 10, which is another video project birthed by Microsoft.
