Continued...

To complicate the things a bit, we bring back the PC and the car/home stereo. Lets say that you get the same service on your PC as well and you can either buy or listen to music as you see fit. Connect your PC to your home theater and listen to the streamed music, or if you have a media center box, connect that to the website and do the rest.

Finally, car stereos. This is the most far-fetched solution I've heard of, and I really don’t see this taking off in 2006.

If Motorola is able to manage all of the above, I really do think that iTunes would become redundant and rather useless. It's entirely possible that this is some sort of a blanket experiment for iTunes Radio service which both of these companies have worked on together, and Motorola, being the handset provider, has taken the onus of selling the concept.

Another interesting service that could incept from this would be the option of running a software application on my home PC and streaming my own music collection over the Internet and 3G/EDGE networks to my cell phone. A PSP accessory provides a similar, which streams video from your house to your PSP anywhere in the world as long as both devices are connected to the Internet.

If this is an independent service by Moto, then we will surely see an iTunes backlash.

Whatever the situation may be, I'm already sold on the idea (if it is what I think it is), but before I sound off, I have one last question: Where do I sign up?
