It was Fun While it Lasted.

Simply for the fun of it, let's pretend that my doom and gloom predictions become a reality. Let us imagine that we now live in a world where net neutrality has in fact, gone the way of the dodo bird.

The year is 2009. As we continue to wait patiently for Windows Vista to come out, Linux has taken a stronger market share along with "OS X Siamese-Kitty."

Meanwhile in Eastern Washington, the new tech center for the state after the devastating earthquake of 2007, a gaggle of kids visit the local tech museum where they discover what was once known as the online operating system. They stand there with jaws wide open as they hear the story of how it was believed that the online OS would one day be a viable option. "Google was once believed to be the father of this technology," they are told. Remember, I already explained how Google is already very much offering an online OS from my previous article here. So it may be interesting to see how this affects current legislative efforts.

Fine, it's sort of scary and perhaps way over the top. Still, some of this is not totally without merit if you ask me. We should also understand that Google is not stupid either. Even though they and others like them are in potential danger from this legislation, I firmly believe that they are already working on a "backup plan" in order maintain their market share.
