(Special Report) - ATI's Imageon mobile graphics technology was on display at the company's booth this year. Both ATI and NVIDIA are working on entering the mobile segment (read: cell phones) aggressively with 3D graphics technology to encourage advancements in graphics on cell phones and other such mobile devices. Imageon is ATI's way of entering that mobile segment and competing against its archrival NVIDIA. Thus far, only LG has incorporated ATI's Imageon technology in one of its high-end models while NVIDIA's mobile graphics technology is doing well with support from a great number of companies in its portfolio. Needless to say, upcoming game titles for cell phones will look gorgeous, as 3D won't just be the technology for desktop and notebook computers. However, be prepared to pay a premium for the latest in graphics technology on cell phones.
