(Review) - Logitech is at it again with a newly released G25 racing wheel, part of Logitech’s G series gaming product line. You know it’s going to be quite an experience as you take the G25 out of its packing. The quality of components, overall weight and a hint of style will have you smiling as you install the latest in gaming wheels sensation. The G25 gaming wheel package consists of three main components: the wheel, the pedals and the shifter, all of which are easy to install and work with. The wheel is 11-inches in diameter with real leather exterior and a 900-degree rotation. Also, the wheel is equipped with 2x paddle shifters and two additional buttons that can be programmed with the included application. The wheel has a very sturdy and durable feel to it, not to mention the excellent design that resembles a realistic view of an actual racing wheel. Similar to the wheel, the pedals are of high quality as well with gas, brake and clutch pedals. Even though Logitech claims to have a carpet grip system, it didn’t work as well in our testing. In the most intense gaming sessions, we were able to move the pedals forward. The easiest solution to that is to put the pedals against the wall. That worked stupendously. We would’ve also preferred a layer covering the pedals from exposing us to their metallic body. That would’ve given the pedals a much better and steady feel (i.e., no slipperiness). Logitech didn’t leave any stone unturned with the G25 racing wheel. The shifter includes a variety of buttons and a shift stick wrapped in leather; classy. It will take you sometime to get used to the wheel if you have never used one, but once you are familiar with the way it works, you should be very pleased with the G25. In our performance testing, we had a blast working with the G25 racing wheel. It really felt like we were racing, thanks to the G25’s realistic controls and dual force feedback motors that yielded powerful end results during crashes. The ability to customize the wheel with the included application in a number of games is an added bonus. All in all, Logitech’s G25 racing wheel is an amazing product that’s fantastic in performance, classy and an all around winner. For the average price of $249.99, it’s an expensive wheel, no doubt, but it’s one of the few products that we have no problems recommending despite seeing a steep price tag.
