(Insider Report) - We recently talked to Sun Microsystems in a bid to understand the general response to their Niagara based servers. We were told that the response was extremely positive. After requesting Sun to elaborate on the reaction, the company said it has shipped approximately 1,000 boxes fitted with the processor. We may be wrong, but retailing 1,000 servers in two months doesnt really sound as big a deal as Sun claims it to be. We also found that Sun has sold around 65 Niagara based servers in India.
