Page 2 of 2 Continued:
Initial Thoughts: The feature set of the device appears to include everything that you would want. The battery life is acceptable for video playback, but music playback could improve. We believe the lack of battery lifespan is due to a much larger screen that consumes more power than it needs during this mode. This is where having a large screen compromises the actual functionality of the unit. The idea of portable gaming and connecting the 402 to the TV is an interesting one, and if the quality is there, this could really take off for Archos. The exterior is fairly sleek, and the player has all the features and specifications that you would ever want. Whats even more delighting is that the price is pretty reasonable for a unit with 20GB of onboard storage and a meaty feature set. The Archos Gmini 402 should have a bright future ahead of it, assuming its theoretical specifications sheet turn out to be pragmatic and worthwhile.
