The standard navigational buttons are situated towards the side of the MP3 player where it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the professional appearance. It weighs around 0.9oz and has a built-in Lithium Ion rechargeable battery that provides up to 16 hours of music, which is not bad for an MP3 player of this size. It connects to the PC via an USB port; whether the port is USB 1.1 or 2.0 is currently unknown. Although the EMP-Z II Plus supports MP3 and WMA audio formats, it lacks the capacity to playback DRM WMA format, which is supported by almost all major online music retailers.

We commend Beat Sounds for implementing certain features that are now becoming the norm in MP3 players. One of such features includes the functionality to view slideshows of your personal photos. In addition to that, you can also listen to the radio via implemented FM tuner option. It also has a voice recorder that would save files to MP3 format.

In the package, you will get the user’s manual, necklace type stereo, music managing software, USB cable, power adapter and an earphone connector.

According to Beat Sounds, the red edition (256MB) is available for $99.99 while the silver edition, which comes in 512MB size exclusively, is available for $129.99.
