Apple’s iPod is nothing compared to what some of the other companies are introducing to the market. Although iPod holds significant market share, Apple would sooner or later become just another MP3 player maker. Yet another contender to the hard drive based MP3 players is Creative and its Zen Sleek.

Creative’s Zen Sleek is a 20GB player with a brushed exterior that matches quite well with Apple’s Mac OS X. The buttons are all well placed and, as the name applies, sleek. Creative introduces a matching pair of earphones that goes well with the 157g player. Creative’s Zen Sleek uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and a USB connector to charge itself. In addition to supporting the regular MP3, WAV and WMA formats, it also has support for DRM WMA, which is the standard of choice for numerous online music retailers.

Similar to other players of its caliber, the Zen Sleek has voice recording via microphone built-in as well as support for FM radio. You also get a 2" LCD screen with blue backlight for an effective effect. The FM tuner comes with 32 preset options in addition nine equalization options for fine-tuning the music to your liking.

The Creative Zen Sleek is currently available in the UK.
