Logitech adds another gaming mouse to its extended list today. The Logitech G7 Laser Cordless mouse is designed for gamers that want the ultimate best gaming peripherals money can buy. The G7 features a 2000dpi laser engine that delivers images at 6.4 megapixels per second. Logitech continues the trend with its 2.4GHz wireless connectivity functionality, but enhances the strength by five times to "bulletproof" the connection. Since the mouse is designed for gamers, it comes with two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries to make sure that you never run out of power while gaming. Additionally, the five-level gauge informs you of the battery life you have left. The average battery lifespan, according to Logitech, is approximately two-and-a-half days. The mouse also features Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) gaming feet for smooth gliding with in-game sensitivity switching between 400dpi, 800dpi and 2000dpi.

According to Logitech, the batteries are hot swappable and with its SetPoint software, you can set the mouse to automatically recognize games and adjust sensitivity accordingly. The exterior of the mouse in addition to ergonomics appear to be standard with all Logitech mice, therefore, we don’t have too many concerns in that regard; the overall aesthetics of the G7 are pleasant and match well with Logitech’s color selection. The MSRP for the Logitech G7 Laser Cordless mouse is $99.99.

Initial Thoughts: As you can tell, this mouse is designed seriously for gamers who want the absolute best when it comes to gaming. Although the features are impressive, and we are certain that Logitech would most likely remain true to its tradition of excellent products, you have to wonder about the overall value. You clearly can’t purchase this mouse and expect your gaming skills to improve overnight. For the majority of you, Logitech’s affordable offering such as the MX518 would be more than sufficient with a much affordable price tag of $40.00 on average.
