Apple’s iPod has been garnering a lot of attention ever since it launched. Not only has it become a cultural accessory, but it also appears to be a great business model for numerous companies. You can also say that Apple’s iPod has literally shaken the entire consumer electronics industry and helped create a completely new product line that solely focuses around the iPod. In fact Logitech has dedicated a product line that caters only to the iPod. What we have today is Logitech’s latest edition to its iPod exclusive line of products – Logitech Wireless Headphones.

The Logitech Wireless Headphones use Bluetooth technology to connect to the iPod via an additional adapter that is included in the package. This particular adapter gets connected to the iPod and transmits signal for the headphones. According to Logitech, the headphones are capable of providing crystal clear sound with digital wireless technology that provides 30 feet of range. Furthermore, the headphones can provide up to eight hours of battery life per charge. The headphones themselves can be charged via an included power adapter.

Not only are the headphones wireless, but they also have integrated controls for the iPod on one of the earpieces. So, for instance, you don’t have to reach the iPod to manage your music; it can be done with the controls right on the headphones. These controls include volume up/down, play/pause, select tracks and more.

Logitech’s Wireless Headphones are compatible with iPod Photo, iPod Mini, iPod U2 Special Edition, 4th Generation iPod and 3rd Generation iPod.

Though the features sound exciting and promising, these headphones do carry a hefty price tag of $149.99 MSRP. We are sure the price will drop to acceptable levels in the future, but how acceptable would it be is yet to be seen.

Needless to say, Logitech has indeed developed an interesting product that may certainly please the iPod crowd. The use of Bluetooth is intriguing, but the price tag is simply too much. If you are going to spend about $149.99 on a pair of wireless headphones and partner them with a $199.99 2nd generation iPod Mini, you are better off with a full-fledged iPod than a mini version. As it currently appears, these headphones are designed for the elite that don’t mind the expensive duo of an iPod plus Logitech’s Wireless Headphones.
