Shure has generally impressed us with the superiority of their products. They particularly pay attention to their quality, since their target market includes serious audio listeners and professional musicians that rely solely on quality products in a career this competitive, so Shure has a broad responsibility towards its customers. Back when we evaluated the E3c pair of earphones, we were thoroughly impressed by the quality and it appears as though Shure is back on track with another addition to its product lineup – the E4c earphones. From an exterior standpoint, there’s isn’t much to discuss except that the earphones look similar to Shure’s earlier models with the only difference being the model name and a list of variant specifications. According to Shure, the earphones feature a sound isolating design with high-definition drivers with tuned port technology. The earphones are designed for the audiophiles in mind with a desire for the best listening experience possible. The E4c features sound isolating technology in a natural manner, meaning the earphones aren’t exactly equipped with technologies to block out external noise, but rather the insertion in ears automatically take care of the unnecessary noise. Shure also equips the pair of earphones with a personal fit kit, which carries a pair of disposable Foam Sleeves, a pair of Triple Flange Sleeves, three pairs (small, medium, large) of Flex Sleeves, and three pairs of Soft Flex Sleeves (small, medium, large) to ensure the ideal personalized fit. The personal fit should eventually lead to a secure and comfortable fitting. Initial Thoughts: Previously, we’ve been thoroughly impressed with Shure products and from preliminary analysis; it appears that Shure has the right concept and a recipe of an almost perfect pair of earphones. If we were to believe Shure, which we do from the company’s history, the integrated technologies combined with superior sensitivity and impedance frequencies should yield in a satisfying listening experience. With that said, the E4c pair of earphones aren’t for the lighthearted listeners. Unless you are a professional musician or an audiophile, these aren’t exactly designed for you. At $299.00 per pair, you must have a value for them at the respected price. Furthermore, you must also have a solid MP3 player with quality specifications to take advantage of a heavenly good music combination.
