Sony Electronics is a name known for consumer electronics products. Not surprisingly, the company has introduced a latest line of sleek MP3 players based on flash memory for portability and ruggedness. As you can already tell, the exterior of the player is like no other with a small, glossy finish for an attractive look. According to Sony, its about the size of a gum, which makes it pretty small. For starters, this particular model has 1GB of memory built-in with an integrated FM tuner functionality that lets you skip to the most popular radio channels via a preset option. Furthermore, the NW-E507 has an organic electroluminescence display that attractively displays the song title, length, battery life and other such options in a 3-line exhibit. Not only that, but you also get 50 hours of battery life with a special quick charge feature that will let you charge the integrated rechargeable battery for three minutes per three hours of listening time not bad for a three-minute charge. Sony supports MP3, ATRAC3, ATRAC3Plus, WMA and WAV (no DRM WMA, unfortunately) audio formats. You also get a time/calendar display in addition to the included clip for portability and one handed jog dial operation for swiftly accessing the menus. Sony does complete the entire package with the necessary essentials, and lets you transfer music files back and forth via the USB port. According to Sony, the price is currently set at $199.99, which makes it quite expensive than what we have seen from Samsung and Rio with their competitive offerings.
