(First Look) - Now that Motorola has had just as much success with its RAZR line as Apple did with its iPod, Motorola is determined to take the product line one step further with a slew of new crazily named cell phones. These new models include two versions of KRZR, RAZR, and one model of RIZR. The KRZR is a thinner, possibly slimmer version of the RAZR measuring and weighing at 42x103x17mm and 103g, respectively.

The Motorola KRZR K1 is based on an ultra-slim form factor, as the measurements state above. The phone is packed with a 2.0-megapixel camera with an 8x digital zoom and image editing features, video capture and playback capability using the MPEG4 format at 15fps, audio/video streaming, video progressive download, and video recording functionality for up to 25 minutes.

The Moto KRZR is also bundled with Bluetooth wireless technology, enhanced phonebook features with contact fields, such as URL, IM and address, microSD memory slot for optional memory upgrade, EDGE capability for faster data access, screensavers, games, downloadable themes and ringer tones. In addition, you can listen to your favorite music using MIDI, MP3, AAC and AAC+ audio formats, make calls using the PIM functionality and voice recognition commands. The phone is also loaded with other standard features as well that we all expect from recent cell phones.

Other than the integrated features, there is also the amazing looking exterior of the KRZR K1. The blue exterior is slim and compact with a glossy layer. The only problem with a glossy layer is the easiness of getting smudges and consistently having to wipe them clean. That’s true with all glossy consumer electronics, not just the KRZR K1. The digital display is bright and easy to read, thanks to the high resolution display.

The KRZR K1 is expected to retail for approximately the same price as its RAZR counterpart and should be available sometime in the second half of 2006.
