Continued...

Again, many cell phones are now featuring a 2.0-megapixel camera, a step up from the previous 1.3-megapixel standard, but unfortunately, Sidekick 3 is lackluster in this department as well. The rest of the specifications are acceptable.

It goes without saying that T-Mobile didn’t live up to everyone’s expectations. T-Mobile was well aware of the buzz surrounding its upcoming device and should have paid close attention to features and specifications. When a device becomes a celebrity, so to speak, it needs to deliver a spectacular performance or risk being overcome by competitors. We can’t say Sidekick 3 will fail; quite the contrary actually, especially if T-Mobile can offer the unit at an acceptable price tag. Those of us who may be looking for a nice upgrade from our last-generation phones may still find Sidekick 3 an acceptable solution, but for the rest of us who prefer to be on the bleeding edge, its clear T-Mobile has nothing that would impress us.

On the other hand, the new Sidekick 3 looks much better than previous designs and is a wonder in itself.

T-Mobile is rumored to offer Sidekick 3 first to Sidekick II customers and later make the device available to mainstream public starting July 10th, though this date is not yet confirmed.
