Apple Computer Inc., maker of the popular iPod music player and online music store iTunes, today confirmed that it has sold its 500 millionth song on Monday. According to Apple, it has taken the company just over two years to reach this milestone in online music sales.

Although the company does not profit much from iTunes, it has certainly helped Apple with iPod sales that holds majority of the portable audio player market share in the industry.
