Apple Computer, Inc. has introduced its online iTunes music store to Canada on Thursday. Apple’s iTunes online music store is one of the largest music stores currently with over one million downloads thus far. The company has launched its online store’s subsidiaries in 14 countries including France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and numerous others. "The demand across Canada for the iTunes Music Store has been overwhelming," said Eddy Cue, Vice President, Applications, Apple Computer, Inc. With over 700,000 songs, including some exclusive albums from artists worldwide, Apple hopes to create a huge market for its Canadian users; the company will retail each song for $0.99 (Canadian currency). Users will be able to play their purchased songs on five computers, burn unlimited copies of their purchased music, burn their playlists for up to seven times and transfer unlimited times between different iPods. Apple’s iPod holds 50 percent market shares in the portable audio player market.
