Google, one of the world’s top search engines, has introduced a new feature to its site – an option for users to personalize their Google homepage. The service is much similar to Yahoo and MSN’s portals and let’s you select the services you want to have access to right on the front page. This project, codenamed Fusion, is Google’s way of offering a premium package of services to its users. Google said it would offer everything from GMail to Google News and everything in between for users by allowing them to merely check the designated box with the desired options. comScore Networks, a web traffic monitoring company, said this strategy could be a useful tool for Google to increase traffic to its other services. The company has analyzed Yahoo and MSN’s portals before reaching the conclusion. Google will later enhance its Fusion project by offering feeds to content sites in the future. It will also offer content from third party companies.
