In an attempt to compete against Google, Yahoo and Ask Jeeves, Microsoft Corp. has updated its Windows Live search engine and released it under Beta. With the update, the concept is to help users find information quickly, easily and organizationally.

Microsoft has updated the search engine with a Web 2.0 interactive look, similar to an abundance of other web exclusive applications. According to industry reports, Microsoft’s intention is to link the search engine to its Windows operating system and upcoming Office suite.

The company said its goal is to let users be in charge of the search engine and customize it to their liking.

The new search engine will power MSN.com and Live.com.
