Microsoft Corp., world’s largest software maker, recently announced its plans to bring mobile version of its instant messaging software to corporate users via different means. According to the software maker, when more businesses start to adopt video conferencing ideas for international communications within the company’s various divisions, the mobile instant messaging software will come in handy. Microsoft also foresees the future of mobile instant messaging as promising, since companies are always looking to cut costs and business travel is one of the highest-ranking expenses for major corporations. Microsoft will first offer its mobile instant messaging client for cell phones that users would be able to use to send and receive messages either via the cell phones or from PC to cell phone. Additionally, Microsoft will also partner with Research In Motion for a mobile version of its instant messaging client for Blackberry, a popular product amongst business users. The instant messenger in question is the company’s Office Communicator, which will enter the market in second-half of 2005.
