Nintendo today unveiled its very own GameBoy Micro at E3, which will officially take place in Los Angeles, California starting Wednesday.

Although Nintendo did not reveal much information about the GameBoy Micro, it did say that the Micro is similar to Apple’s iPod Mini portable audio player in terms of its size. It measures 4" x 2" x 0.7" and weighs in around 2.8 ounces.

Nintendo also said that Micro has the capability to replace faceplates, thereby allowing users to customize their device according to their personal preference.

GameBoy Micro will play games specifically made for the current GameBoy Advance SP; it also has a much brighter screen than its previous predecessors.

Nintendo hopes to launch the GameBoy Micro later this fall. The price of the unit is currently unknown.
