Google, one of the widely visited search engines on the web, introduced the second version of its Picasa software recently. Picasa is Google’s photo management software that it acquired from Idealab, an independent software-developing firm purchased by Google in mid-2004. Picasa lets users organize and enhance their photos in a variety of ways. Picasa 2, the recently introduced version, now offers better and more powerful tools with additional features for photo management. In addition to the aforementioned features, you can now create photo CDs, slideshows and collages. The newer version comes with 12 photo-editing tools that include red-eye remover, various filtering techniques, lighting enhancements and photo cropping. You can also better organize the photos by naming them and grouping them in a central location. Picasa 2 also lets you create gift photo CDs and backup images for archival purposes onto a removal storage medium. Along with that, there are new printing and sharing options available to users. According to industry analysts, this will Google a head start over their competition, since neither Yahoo nor MSN provides similar service to their users. Home
