World’s largest chipmaker Intel Corp. and automaker BMW AG has signed a partnership deal between the companies for a co-marketing and technology infrastructure campaign.

Intel will sponsor BMW’s Sauber Formula One Racing Team and will work with the automaker on a co-marketing campaign. Intel will also work with BMW to standardize the company’s infrastructure across data centers and 3,000 dealers worldwide. In return, BWM said it would promote Intel within the company. It hopes to accomplish that by issuing employees (those who qualify) with Intel Centrino based notebooks and Intel based PDAs.

Intel and BMW will also work coherently to develop a specification for phones and music players for BMW vehicles as well.

"With Intel as official corporate partner of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, the Intel brand will reach hundreds of millions of passionate fans worldwide each year, fans who appreciate the critical role that technology plays in Formula One," said Eric Kim, Chief Marketing Officer, Intel Corp., in a statement.
