Intel Corp., world's largest chipmaker and a leader in notebook computer technologies, has announced a new addition to its family of mobile Pentium M chips. Intel's Pentium M 765 microprocessor is equipped with 2MB of L2 cache, core clock speed of 2.1GHz, and is based on the 90nm process technology. The new chip utilizes a 400MHz system bus with the chip maker's power saving and application optimizing technologies such as Enhanced Intel Speedstep. The company reported, the chip will begin shipping in retail channels immediately for notebook computers. Intel will also ship boxed versions of the CPU to OEMs for integration in their systems. Intel's Pentium M 765 retails for $637 in 1,000 unit quantities, respectively.
