Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates today speculated the software giant’s strategy to finally beat Sony’s Playstation gaming console with its upcoming Xbox 360.

According to Gates, Xbox 360 could possibly beat Sony’s Playstation with its "desktop" interface, codenamed Xenon. Gates said Xenon is much similar to its Windows Media Center software that allows the users to manage their songs, photos, videos etc. Microsoft Chairman stated Xbox 360 will be able to accomplish much of that and labeled it as the next "digital entertainment hub".

In addition to the sleek interface, the online play on Xbox 360 will be much more social and interactive, informed Gates. Speculators believe Xbox 360 to support games from the original Xbox as well, though Microsoft has made no such comments.

Microsoft will unveil many of the details at E3 gaming expo, which is scheduled to take place in California in May, but before that Microsoft has partnered with MTV to launch its Xbox 360 on May 12th.
