Unlike Microsoft’s Windows operating system, February was a particularly alarming month for Apple’s OS X operating system. In one month alone, security analysts found four major flaws in the mostly impenetrable operating system.

Apple Computer recently released a patch that fixes 20 vulnerabilities in the operating system, including the four that were found throughout February.

The patch fixes Safari and Mail client bugs, in addition to iChat, which let users automatically download attachments sent from others without a warning. Apple confirms that iChat now uses download validation to warn users about unsafe file formats.

Other flaws include a website or an attachment’s ability to execute malicious code using Javascript on the system.

Apple has also fixed flaws in the company’s Directory Services, file servers, FileVault secure storage and PHP language.

Apple recommended that users immediately download the latest patch to update their system and always have their systems updated to avoid being attacked in the future.
