8Com Wireless, a name not known to many, is a headset provider for mobile devices market. It would be unfair to call them "just another headset" maker because they take elegance and style in headsets to the next level. This could be that their main consumership consists of business and executive users who are looking for something that is professional and eye-catching. Of course, Bluetooth and other wireless technologies being the latest trend in portable mobile devices, it makes sense to introduce a product that will closely fit the demand for such matching accessories.

We will take an in-depth look at the 8Com Wireless Digital BH220 headset and evaluate the performance of such petite product for the latest Bluetooth enabled mobile devices. As you can see, the BH220 is smaller than a regular sized house key and no thicker in width than a normal sized coin (Quarter - US). Despite its extraordinary physique and support for Bluetooth standard, it claims high audio quality and equips with stylistic features. How well does the BH220 performs in our audio quality tests? What is the battery life on this headset? What other features does it support? Without further delay, read on and find out the answers to these questions...

Accessories:

The package is thoroughly equipped with various accessories to please the end-consumer. It contains - a carrying pouch, an AC/DC wall charger, a neck strap, an ear hook, four ear gels, and an instruction manual. The carrying pouch is made of velvet-like material with more than enough space to store the battery charger. It is apparent that the carrying pouch is not for the headset itself considering that you will most likely have it connected to the device.

The neck strap is an alright addition to the package, but we don't think anyone will be using it while being professional. Its flourescent blue color will definitely stand out from its surroundings, but it was thoughtful of 8Com Wireless to include it in the package to cover all bases. The proper fitting of the headset is always an issue, which is why more and more manufacturers are including few sets of ear gels for the perfect fit. Sure enough, 8Com Wireless is following the rest of the players in the market and accepting their decisions to include fitting gels. The fitting gels will be attached to the main ear piece at the back, which will then go in your ear.

In order to consequently secure the headset to the ear, 8Com Wireless has included an ear hook. The hook is made out of plastic and gets attached to the back of the headset for the perfect fit. It is dual-directional, meaning that you can use it with both ears. We must admit that inserting the hook into the headset was not an easy task due to the fact that the plastic does not seem to be too rugged. There was always an incertainty of its life span during our testing. Finally, the user's manual is straight-forward and illustrates installation methods for the ear gels and the ear hook. We are thoroughly impressed by the packaged contents and hope to see the BH220 headset perform exceptionally in our performance tests.
