(Review Clip) - Not too long ago, we evaluated Eytmotic’s ETYCOM headset for mobile phones. While we enjoyed the device, what’s impressive is Etymotic’s history in the industry. The ETYCOM headset was launched a while back, and now the company has introduced an adapter to make it Skype compatible, which is available for free with current and past orders. However, you would have to prove that you actually own an ETYCOM headset before getting the adapter. Considering Etymotic isn’t necessarily a volume supplier, they should have customer records to make it as hassle-free as possible.

What has us impressed is the fact that ETYCOM still manages to outdo many headsets from substandard manufacturers. This goes to show that quality should indeed be a top priority for any company. What you will notice with niche companies, such as Etymotic, is that they don’t necessarily update their product line every three months. They are not in the market for mass volume orders, but they target audiophiles who truly appreciate audio quality and are willing to pay steep price to get the ultimate entertainment experience.

As Skype, Vonage and other VoIP services take off, headsets and products that are specifically made for such services will only become common. In our evaluation, we recommended the ETYCOM wholeheartedly if you don’t mind the age-old wired design.
