Product Analysis:

This is one unique speaker from Kensington. The entire speaker set is merged into a single device. Not only is the speaker standalone, but the iPod dock is also situated on the same unit. There’s no hassle of attaching separated components to make everything work. Simplicity as its best! The overall aspect of the SX 2000 is very professional and matches especially well with Apple’s iPod. Kensington has designed the speaker to be rugged that can handle a few drops here and there. It’s a stable unit with rubberized base for additional grip to the surface.

Perhaps the most exciting characteristic of the SX 2000 is its support for Apple’s iPod as well as third party music players. Support for additional MP3 players is something that most iPod exclusive speaker sets shy away from, which is why we believe Kensington has an edge over its competitors in this area.

However, there are a couple of things that disturb us. Obviously if you were to purchase the SX 2000 for something other than the iPod, you will ruin the appearance of the unit. This is more of a side dish feature than a main course. There’s no point in you opting for anything closely related to the iPod if you don’t own the world’s most popular music player. And finally, this speaker is only available in white, so if you have a black or a special edition U2 iPod, you will be somewhat disappointed.

The bottom right of the speaker contains there key buttons: power on/off, volume up and volume down, again showcasing a down to earth design.
