We recently evaluated Logitech's X-530 speaker system and found it to be an excellent speaker system for valued listeners. Logitech introduced a 2.1 setup to its successful budget product line with the X-230 system. While there is a price point difference between the two, we must admit that both units performed above par in our audio quality tests. Today we are looking at the Logitech X-230 2.1 system. The X-530 and X-230 systems are quite similar in design with their major difference lying between a full surround sound setup versus an even affordable 2.1 setup.

These speakers are equipped with Logitech’s innovative FDD Technology, which we explained in our X-530 evaluation previously. The technology actually works and it is glad to see that Logitech invented something purely for the budget conscious listeners. This should allow Logitech to win many hearts over the holidays with these two models, as they are proven to be excellent products for gaming and general music enjoyment.

Logitech has been known for not only their speaker units, but also their hardware peripherals that include keyboards and mice. And honestly, they seemed to have set standards for almost all their products for the rest of the industry to follow. The company’s high-end peripherals and determination to produce quality products for end-consumers is certainly commendable. They seemed to have grasped the right idea of the way hardware peripherals, including speaker units, should function and perform. They are surely a brand for enthusiasts with a taste for high-quality, yet expensive, products.

Today we will take a look at Logitech’s X-230 speaker units in detail. Since we have already disclosed some teasers towards the beginning, we will take this time to exclude additional comments that may make this product unique or a choice for the affordable market segment. Are these speakers worthy of your attention? Read on and find out…
