Shure Sound Isolating Earphones

(Review) - We have taken a look at a number of Shure’s earphones, and they have all been excellent. Naturally, they come with a hefty price tag, but they are certainly worth it to the right demographics. To switch gears slightly, we decided to review the company’s most affordable pair today, the SE210 Sound Isolating Earphones. Set at $149.99, they are priced above average than a lot of earphones and headphones in the market, but we wouldn’t put them on the "can’t afford" list quite yet.

Compared to the most high-end model, the SE210 lacks a dedicated woofer and tweeter to further refine the audio output, but it’s still good enough to beat all mainstream earphones in the market hands down. They are based on the traditional in-ear design with a conservative color scheme (gray and white). That should match a lot of portable audio players if that’s what you are worried about. Thanks to their design, they do a great job at comforting your ears and blocking outside excess noise. In regards to overall comfort, we would rate them very highly. We had them inserted for a few hours on the flight and it was a miracle to sleep through the flight without waking up to annoying noises. And once we woke up, our ears thanked us, literally.

Shure SE530PTH Earphones Review

Of course, Shure, in its typical style, has packed a number of added tips, flanges and other such tools to make it an attractive bundle with plenty of options. The audio quality was a pure joy with crisp and vivid audio reproduction, though the difference between SE530 and SE210 is clear. That’s saying a lot though, since we hardly ever notice a difference between high-end models. If you think $149.99 for SE210 is too much, the SE530 with its $449.99 will absolutely faint you.

If you are looking for the absolute best pair to spend your money on, go for the SE530. They are unbeatable, but for more mainstream users, stick with the SE210. They alone will make listening to your music and podcasts a pure pleasure. In essence, Shure is the Apple of earphones. That’s how good their earphones are. Just be careful not to take a walk on busy streets with these inserted; they could be hazardous due to their noise blocking capability.
