(Review) - Sony’s reasonably priced AS50G headphones will be a good alternative for those expensive pairs that you are afraid of losing and are limited for home-use only. These can be your workout headphones, thanks to their affordability and a sporty design.

The AS50G adds a different stylistic touch to set them apart from a plethora of other earphones/headphones, and they do a good job of it. From their classy silver, gray and red (a touch of it) color scheme and a unique behind-the-ear design, they add flair to the otherwise dull world of headphones. In addition to looking attractive, Sony has focused on their functionality as well with modular cable (20-inches + another 26-inches with extension) and a comfortable design for the most part.

The headphones fit snuggly into your ears, but the neckband will pose a problem, since it’s not adjustable. Problem in the sense that it will stick out from behind the neck, or underneath the hair and make its presence very obvious. You could wear them without looping them behind your ears and they will still fit in well.

For audio performance, the AS50G worked relatively well with warm, rich, crystal clear sound. They won’t replace your $500 headphones/earphones, but they will be perfectly fine at the gym, which is the primary use for these earphones, especially for audiophiles.

For $49.99, they are a steal, and we would recommend them highly if you are searching for affordable headphones that look attractive and have an attractive audio output. They won’t disappoint.
