Headphones are a gadget of choice for LAN party attendees, professional musicians, and music enthusiasts. This makes it necessary for manufacturers to produce headphones that cater to one of the toughest consumership in the market. Ultrasone has always focused their energy towards making expensive yet high-quality headphones. In fact, they are the only ones to have produced 999 pairs of headphones that cost around $3,000. Of course, this is out of reach for many consumers and they represent more of a collector's item rather than an accessory that can be used regularly. It is interesting to see what kind of things Ultrasone has put into their $3,000 model, but the main question is - are you really going to notice the difference between $500 headphones vs. the $3,000 ones? It all depends on your tastes and the budget category you are looking at. That aside, we will take a look at a more affodable solution that doesn't cost as much as $3,000, but they can still be put into the expensive category. If you recall, we analzyed Ultrasone's HFI-550 model yesterday; it had excellent features, but most importantly it was a great performer. Today, we will take a look at a superior product to HFI-550 - the HFI-650 model. What sets these headphones apart from its predecessor? Is there a performance gap between the two? We will tackle these questions and much more throughout this analysis. Without futher delay, let's begin... Just like the HFI-550, these headphones came with nothing other than a carry case. As we stated previously, this is to reduce the cost of an already expensive product, which is very thoughtful of Ultrasone. The carry case will certainly aid in protecting the headphones from getting scratched and the like.
