OCZ Technology is a key leader when it comes to producing high quality workstation memory. They cater to enthusiasts with high expectations of gaining as much performance out of their systems as possible. OCZ is right next to their competitors and even ahead in some areas (value). System memory is not the only product that OCZ specializes in, the company produces power leads, heatsinks, and power supplies. OCZ is quite excited about their PowerStream line of power supply units and honestly, they surely have a reason to be excited about. Assumably, we will be taking a look at OCZ's PowerStream 520W power supply unit. The PowerStream line consists of three flavors - 420W, 470W, and 520W. What sets this power supply apart from its competition? It has to be the fact that it caters to the enthusiast community with features that can't be found in other power supplies in the market. Without further ado, let's begin our journey through the world of OCZ PowerStream line... Accessories:
Like various power supplies, OCZ's PowerStream power supplies comes with an user's manual, a power cable, few cable ties, installation screws, and a 24-pin to 20-pin converter. The user's guide is simple with easy to understand directions. While everything else is standard, we would like to touch-up on the 24-pin to 20-pin converter. OCZ has produced these power supplies by keeping future upgradibility in mind, which is excellent. As many of us know, Intel's latest Grantsdale and Alderwood chipsets use a 24-pin power supply. This is a completely new standard that took various power supply manufacturers by surprise. OCZ, however, waited patiently to determine the needs and wants of its consumers. This led to a product that may very well be worth the investment. Also, the PowerStream line of power supplies is compatible with the upcoming BTX standard from Intel. As you can see, OCZ has really put the effort to make sure their power supplies can keep up with the evolving industry.
