Product Outlook: External Continued

The side panels of the SST-LC10 have vents placed next to the optical drives on the right hand side and next to the PCI slots on the left side. Both of those areas of the case generate a fair amount of heat, so they are placed just where they should be. The front intake vents are directly underneath the case and on the left side of the case, next to the Audio and Firewire ports. Silverstone could have put some more vent holes at the top of the case but apparently they decided against it. We'll see how the cooling system performs later in the evaluation.

Here we have all the things you'd expect to see at the back of a computer case. The 2 fans you see are 60mm running at 3600rpm with a noise level of 25dBA according to Silverstone's technical specifications. Supposedly it can push about air at about 16 CFM, so both of them together should be moving about 32 CFM of air. If you're curious, they are made by Everflow, run at 12v, 0.12amps, and are model F126025SL. The PCI slots you see have a mirror finish, which is a nice little addition. They will probably never be seen though, so it doesn't really matter much.

Now lets have a look at the inside of the LC10.
