Page 1 of 6 Sunbeamtech’s Transformer is a large mid-tower case on steroids. If you want a computer with plenty of fans and lots of lights, this case is for you. A product like this from Sunbeamtech isn’t surprising, since they are currently making a name for themselves in the case modding industry. To get an idea about some of the products they offer, they sell screws with LEDs on them and lighted connectors/expansion accessories. So, what does this case have to offer? First of all, although Sunbeamtech claims it to be a mid-tower case, the reality is that it is halfway between a full tower and a mid-tower. The larger size in addition to the steel construction makes for a heavy case. But in our opinion, this is the perfect size because it isn’t overly large, yet leaves ample room for you to work on your PC. It comes with four fans; one exhaust at the rear which doesn’t have an LED, two intake fans on the side window with LED lights, and an exhaust mounted on the top of the case that has an LED fan as well. There is room for a 120mm intake fan at the front, but it is not included. The top of the case sports two USB 2.0 ports in addition to both audio in and out. Sunbeamtech even includes a green 10cm CCFL (Cold Cathode Florescent Light) to add a bit more to the overall value. And last but certainly not least, in what is fast becoming a standard in a crowded market, the Transformer offers tool-less installation of drives and PCI cards. So, is the Transformer all show and no go? Read on to find out… |
