Product Analysis: External 

The front of the Transformer is quite sturdy even though it is plastic. Our only problem with it is the fact that the door is difficult to open sometimes; it requires quite a bit of effort. On the other hand, you don’t have to worry about it swinging open when you don’t want it to. Unfortunately, there is no lock to keep the door closed, which would prevent access to your removable media drives (floppy, DVD/CD) when you are away from the computer. Since this isn’t exactly a business oriented case, we will forgive Sunbeam for not including one.

Some manufacturers have been choosing style over function lately and we are glad to say that Sunbeamtech has not made that mistake. The white strips at the bottom of the case have large slits in them to allow airflow for a front intake fan. No front intake fan is included, but the Transformer has a spot for one, as you can see in this next picture.

This housing will fit most 120mm fans and you won’t even need to use a screwdriver. If your fan doesn’t fit than you can remove the housing and use the traditional screw and screwdriver approach, which we had to do to install our 120mm medium speed Panaflo.

Oddly, the reset button is on the left of the tower and the power button is on the right. We aren’t sure why Sunbeam chose this setup but it deserves a mention.

The rear of the plastic front structure is where Sunbeam recommends you place the included CCFL but you can put it anywhere you please, thanks to the included two-sided tape.

The cold cathode that is included with the case is extremely bright. It’s so bright that the Transformer includes a switch mounted in the rear of the case to turn it off. Unless you’re the kind of person who likes night-lights in their room, you’ll be glad that this switch is included. Installation is simple and instructions are included.
