As we stated earlier, the SLK-948U is similar to other heatsinks from Thermalright. This heatsink has the full copper body with the stacked fin technology for optimal performance. This heatsink is not the lightest heatsink we have seen in the market. In fact, Thermalright heatsinks are known to be extremely heavy therefore, require caution when working with them. This particular model weighs approximately 635g.
The fins are soldered to the base for close contact with the processor. The fins were not bent when we received the product in our lab. The fins are 95mm x 64mm x 45mm in dimensions.
The SLK-948 is finely tuned just like the other heatsinks from Thermalright. The main difference that sets this model apart from others is the new clip design. The SLK-948U uses different plates for both AMD64 and Intel processors. |
