Thermaltake has been producing heatsinks for a long time and while there aren't very many new things happening in the air cooling industry, sometimes we get surprised to see what's in the market. We have seen pretty much the same design from every manufacturer who produces heatsinks, but today we are in for a big surprise.

Thermaltake is known to be innovative when it comes to producing high quality products. Whether the product is merely a case fan or a major component such as a computer case, Thermaltake has always tried their best.

This time the company presents us their Silent Tower Heatpipe Heatsink. As the name implies, the heatsink utilizes heatpipes to better cool the processor. The Silent Tower heatsink is part of Thermaltake's DIY (Do-It-Yourself) products that the company had on display at this year's Computex. What sets this heatsink apart from the rest? How does it perform against its competitors? Read on and find out...

Accessories:

As always, Thermaltake includes the needed accessories in the package to make it an all-in-one kit. The accessories include - thermal compound, screws and springs for various platform installation, "H" metal plates, and an installation guide.

The installation guide is easy to understand and follow. The booklet provides step-by-step instructions to installing the heatsink on all four platforms. We always recommend that you use third-party thermal compound instead of the one provided by Thermaltake.

The "H" plate design is a new way to secure the heatsink on the motherboard. We have seen similar designs from Thermalright except for the fact that they use an "X" plate design for their installation.
