Page 3 of 8 Product Analysis:
The first thing you will notice about the Silent Tower is its large size. The next major upgrade that Thermaltake has made is the use of a 90mm fan. Thermaltake is the only well-known manufacturer who has made the upgrade to a bigger sized fan. We expect to see others follow shortly. The bigger fan produces less noise while giving the same performance. This is a 12v fan with 2500RPM and the ability to circulate close to 52CFM of air. Not to mention the fact that this fan is extremely silent. Notice how Thermaltake has bold the "21 dBA" in their specifications. The color scheme of the heatsink matches rather nicely with the fan. While it is not important, it is something nice that many users look forward to.
The Silent Tower uses Aluminum fins with a copper base; a different combination to say the least. According to Thermaltake, Aluminum has been used to reduce the weight of the heatsink without compromising performance. We will take a look at performance charts later in this analysis. Another interesting feature that we are really excited about is the ability to use dual fans. Thermaltake has even included holes on the back side for another 90mm fan. You can purchase the same white colored fan in order to match the other one from various online retailers. This will, without a doubt, increase the width of the heatsink even more. Please take a look at the second diagram to get a general idea of the size and looks.
At the top, you will notice the connected heatpipes along with Thermaltake's corporate logo. |
